South Whitehall Township provides our residents with year-round opportunities for leisure and recreational activities. We have 202 acres of parkland at twenty-two locations throughout the Township. These parks range in size from a half-acre neighborhood playground to over 114 acres at Covered Bridge Park, our community park. There are numerous playgrounds, athletic fields, sport courts, picnic facilities, and open space within our park system for all to enjoy. In addition to our beautiful parks, we offer a myriad of different programs and events throughout the year for all ages.

We are excited to announce the Parks and Recreation Plan was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on November1, 2023.

The South Whitehall Township Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan is a municipal plan that identifies the methods, resources, organizational capacity, and capital investments needed to accomplish both short-term and long-term park and recreational goals for the community. Now that is has been adopted by the Township Board of Commissioners, this plan will guide staff to help fulfill the vision for South Whitehall's parks and recreation system for the next ten years.

General Refund Policy:

A full program refund will be issued if a program is cancelled by the Parks & Recreation Department for any reason. In this case, the user will be contacted and asked to choose between a refund or user credit on their RecDesk account. If no response is received within 7 days, a user credit will be posted to the user's RecDesk account.

Requests for withdrawal/changes to registrations must be received at least 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the start of the program to be eligible for a refund. Withdrawals less than 14 days in advance may be eligible for a refund per the discretion of the Township Manager. 

Please note: every effort will be made to refund payments back onto the card used for the initial transaction. However, the Department reserves the right to issue refunds in the form of a paper check.  These checks may take 4-5 weeks to process.

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Parks & Recreation Department either via email (matulal@southwhitehall.com) or US Mail (4444 Walbert Avenue, Allentown, Pa 18104).
