Chief of Police - South Whitehall Township Police Department

Land Development Planner in Community Development

South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, PA is seeking a highly professional, detail-oriented individual to join the Community Development Team as the Land Development Planner. Under the supervision of the Director of Community Development, this position will play a critical role in administering the land development process in South Whitehall and putting plans into action through Township ordinances and codes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the Community Development Team to implement the recently adopted Township Comprehensive Plan and other long-range plans currently in development.  

This position is primarily responsible for the administration of the Township’s Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, administering the land development process, and supporting the Township Planning Commission. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, and be computer proficient with high attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in geography, urban/regional planning, engineering, public administration, or a related field; have three (3) or more years of progressively responsible experience in planning or municipal government; and have knowledge of the PA Municipalities Planning Code and any other relevant federal/state laws and guidelines. Knowledge of construction and land development practices is desirable. The successful candidate must submit to a background check and pre-employment screening. This position is required to attend evening meetings.

This position is full-time exempt. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. The range is $60K to $100K per year with excellent benefits. Interested candidates should apply via the Indeed link found below.
