The South Whitehall Township Police utilize the EZ Child and Senior ID Software to provide residents with young children and seniors with an identification kit for emergencies.  The software includes a digital fingerprint pad that captures all ten (10) fingerprints, as well as a video camera to capture a voice interview.  The data can then be printed out and burned to a CD for safekeeping.  To help protect from identity theft, the EZ Child ID Software Kit was written so that no information of the child or senior is saved on the computer.  Once the data is printed or loaded onto the CD, all the information is erased off the system.  The parent or caretaker is the only person who retains the data and ID card.

Given the length of time dedicated to this activity, the South Whitehall Township Police only utilize the system at community events when requested and feasible.
