The residents of South Whitehall Township play an essential role in modern policing because they are the eyes and ears of the police force.  They have the ability to observe and report things that happen in their communities.  Therefore, active citizen cooperation and involvement with police are the fundamental characteristics of crime prevention.  Citizens can also implement security measures and improve the removal of crime risks.  The South Whitehall Township Police Department’s strives to provide its residents with advice and assistance on how they can minimize crime risks to their personal safety and property.

The officers assigned to Community Relations are trained Crime Prevention Practitioners.  In addition to their regular duties, they attend events such Get Prepared Parkland, Heroes and Helpers, LV Autism Safety Day, and other community related events upon request.  Moreover these officers coordinate meetings for the two crime watch groups in the Township.
